Chat and mail

The chat room, and the messages callers leave each other. On as shipped, and anybody may talk, guests included.

ENTERING CHAT ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Everyone in the room sees what you type. /p sends a line to one person, which is quieter but not private: it crosses the wire in the clear and the sysop has the log. Nothing here is kept once the buffer rolls over. ∙ /s who else is here ∙ /p n a line to one person ∙ /welcome read this again ∙ /help the rest of the commands ∙ /q leave, or press ESC ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--> Main: 1 here. /s who, /q quits.#S:Sparks] (you)--> 1 in Main#S:Sparks] Anyone on tonight?in the room, a line typed and sent, firmware 1.2.0-link.17

Settings

Every plugin page starts with the same four fields, which the plugin pages explain.

CHAT───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Plugin enabled yes Read level all.....................................................Write level all.....................................................Admin level sysop...................................................Room name Main....................................................Lines a minute, each 80......................................................Lines remembered 48......................................................Mail slots, board 32......................................................Mail message chars 512.....................................................Mail kept, days 14......................................................Room colours [ 11 colours ][ Save ] [ Cancel ]Tab or arrows move, Enter is next, Space steps a choice, F1 saves, ESC quits typed: CONFIG chat, firmware 1.2.0-link.17

The chat page shows the settings the board's settings file already carries, so the labels are their own names. The file also sets the room's colours (color_node, color_text and so on), each one a colour name: black, white, red, cyan, purple, green, blue, yellow, orange, brown, ltred, darkgrey, grey, ltgreen, ltblue or ltgrey.

Messages are not private: the board keeps them as plain text.
